Considering the physical, economic, political, technological, social, legal, and

political aspects of obsolescence, it's clear that the factory lacks the capacity

to support any functional activities. Only the administrative block stands as

a viable candidate for adaptive reuse.

Moreover, insights gleaned from previous studies by architectural and urban

planning students reveal the factory's stark reality as a neglected and
functionless space at the core of the city. This underscores the necessity of our

design proposal, which envisions the integration of conservation practices,

adaptive reuse strategies, and the incorporation of the heritage Mananchira
pond and park. Through these efforts, our proposal aims to breathe new life

into the area, transforming it into a vibrant public space within Kozhikode's

                     literary hub.
