VOICE OF STAKE HOLDERS
I experienced significant personal growth and transformation during my
undergraduate journey at VIT Vellore. VIT provided a nurturing environment that
imparted academic knowledge and instilled essential life skills. The challenges I
faced—whether academic, social, or personal—taught me resilience, adaptability,
and time management. VIT’s diverse student body and vibrant campus life offered
numerous opportunities for extracurricular involvement, leadership development,
and networking. Team Sammard and VIT-Stellar were two life-altering experiences
where I discovered my passions and honed my interpersonal skills. Overall, the
university played a pivotal role in shaping my character, fostering lifelong Mr. Sankalp Dua
friendships, and preparing me for the next chapter of my educational journey in (19BME0282)
the US. Cornell University, NY, USA
Master’s in Materials Science
Engineering
Before joining VIT, I had limited knowledge of mechanical engineering. VIT
broadened my understanding and ignited my passion to explore and innovate
within this field. From the start, my goal was to challenge stereotypes about girls in
mechanical engineering. VIT and SMEC provided an empowering environment
where I could contribute to reshaping perceptions and demonstrating female
capabilities.
One of the most enriching aspects was the academic freedom to choose diverse
courses. This flexibility allowed me to tailor my education to my interests and
career aspirations. My involvement with ASME-VIT was transformative. Starting as
a core member, I immersed myself in collaborative projects, honed leadership
skills, and expanded my professional network. Being elected Vice Chairperson was
testament to my personal and professional growth at VIT.
ASME-VIT's collaboration with SMEC provided invaluable industry exposure and Ms. Juee Patil (22BME0371)
hands-on experience under esteemed faculty mentorship. This significantly Vice Chairperson
contributed to my technical acumen and understanding of real-world mechanical ASME -VIT
engineering challenges. The proactive approach of SMEC's faculty in organizing
industry visits and offering project opportunities bridged theory and practice,
equipping me with practical skills and industrial knowledge. Reflecting on my VIT
journey, it has been transformative - navigating challenges, celebrating
achievements, and contributing to my personal growth and resilience. I am grateful
for the support from my family, VIT, and SMEC.
APPRECIATION NOTE FROM PARENTS
As Juee’s parents, we are profoundly moved by the remarkable transformation in our daughter’s character.
Witnessing her embrace new opportunities, confront challenges head-on, conquer her fears, and evolve into a
stronger individual has been truly inspiring. Although the decision for her to be away from home was daunting,
witnessing her growth has dispelled all our apprehensions.
The School of Mechanical Engineering at VIT has played a pivotal role in nurturing her to take on new
challenges, persist through them, and learn from both successes and setbacks. We are deeply grateful and
honored that our daughter is a student at VIT Vellore.
