participants since the programme schedule was very meticulously crafted to suit the
participants from different backgrounds. Resource persons from Academia, Industry,
Funding agencies and TBI delivered lectures. Entrepreneurship related video
screening and workshops were part of the agenda that covered topics ranging from the
basics of Entrepreneurship to writing a business plan apart from Time Management,
Negotiation skills and the like..
d).Technology Entrepreneurship Development Programme:
The Technology Entrepreneurship Development Programme is a 6-week non-
residential training programme and VITTBI chose to run the programme in Food
Processing Technology. The programme was organized in Aug-Sept 2012. The
programme covered essentials of Entrepreneurship, basics of Marketing, Finance, HR
etc., apart from providing ample exposure to various facets of food processing
techniques, quality control, certification processes, specialized training programmes,
hospitality industry, packaging and industry visits
.
This programme was designed to
equip the participants to write and present a Project Report and throw open
opportunities to Business Incubation at the VIT Technology Business Incubator, if
found suitable.
There were 13 participants who were graduates and diploma holders in Engineering
and Science streams with interest and exposure to food processing technologies and
planning to start a venture in food domain.
e).IPR sensitization Program
Two IPR Sensitization Programs with the sponsorship from MSME Development
Institute, Chennai were organized on 4
th
& 5
th
Feb 2011. Around sixty participants
comprising of incubatees, students and faculty derived benefits from this. IP
attorneys, patent agents, patent office personnel were the resource persons.
