Was any need assessment exercise undertaken before the development of new
programme(s)? If so, highlight the methodology.
Yes, the development/proposal of new programme requires the steady assessment process.
The methodology is given below:
i. The Head of the department proposes the new programme stating its requirements from the
industry and academic perspective, listing various courses under the programme and the
likely benefits of it.
ii. The curriculum prepared should be benchmarked against top universities in the world.
iii. The programme details are communicated to the Placement and Training center to get its
feedback against industry needs.
iv. The programme of same name/type is offered in any other departments inside the campus
and outside the campus is cross verified.
v. On getting positive feedback from all sides, the proposal is forwarded for approval from
higher officials and academic council.
