the entrance examination for admissions to the B.Tech programmes became a
computer-based test.
Feedback from the candidate is collected at the test centres (for admissions
through the entrance examination). Matters concerning the exam centre,
convenience and also quality of the question paper are surveyed. The
information obtained from the feedback is discussed at various levels, and
suitable corrective actions are taken.
In order to enhance the standard of the entrance examination, question banks
have been created. Faculty members of other Universities / Institutes in India
are also requested to contribute to the question bank.

What are the strategies adopted to increase / improve access for
students belonging to the following categories:
SC/ST
OBC
Women
Persons with varied disabilities
Economically weaker sections
Outstanding achievers in sports and other extracurricular
activities
The University, as a policy, does not distinguish the candidates based on the
caste. However, it takes care to provide higher education for the economically
weaker sections of the society. Deserving candidates (toppers in the 12
th
examination in each district and from Government schools) are provided
100% fee waiver under the STARS (Support the Advancement of Rural
Students). Also, students from economically weaker sections (annual income
not more than Rs. 1,00,000) are given scholarships. About 502 students have
benefited by this scheme in the last two years (2011 – 2012 and 2012 – 2013)
and the total scholarship amounts to Rs. 6,86,90,500. Students representing
VIT University in various cultural and sports activities are given appropriate
