6.4 Financial Management and Resource Mobilization
6.4.1
What is the institutional mechanism available to monitor the
effective and efficient use of financial resources?
Finance Committee monitor the effective and efficient utilisation of
financial resources
Deans of Schools prepare their own budget proposals in consultation
with the Division and Programme Chairs and submit the budget proposals to
the Core Group.
Core group sanctions the budget at the beginning of each financial
year. Deans are empowered to operate the budget.
Project funds are monitored by the Director-Sponsored Research and
are subject to audit at the end of the financial year.

University have a mechanism for internal and external
audit? Give details.
A Finance Committee made of faculty members
monitors the flow of funds
and approves the budget for the University. The audited statement of accounts
for the University comes under the scrutiny of this committee. There is an in-
built audit mechanism in the financial processes of the University. Apart from
this, there is an external audit in addition to the statutory internal audit.

any major audit objections, if so, how were they addressed?
