Feedback is collected from other stake holders also like the faculty,
employees and alumni on a regular basis to ensure continuous improvement of
quality.
The Controller of Examinations appoints a moderation board which
moderates all term end exam question papers and sees to that all norms are
followed.
University level and School level Research committees and Doctoral
committees ensure quality in research. The doctoral committee members
include experts from other Universities in addition to internal faculty
members. Research thesis evaluations are done by eminent examiners – both
within India and abroad.
Stock verifications of equipments, glass wares and consumables are
being undertaken periodically.
6.2.4 Does the University encourage its academic departments to function
independently and autonomously and how does it ensure accountability?
The onus of running graduate and postgraduate academic programmes
wrests with respective Schools which are headed by a Dean. The Divisions, in
all the schools, are formulated to cater to specific areas of specializations and
academic programmes. The Programme Chairs under the supervision of Dean
are responsible for running academic programmes.
Deans and Programme Chairs are responsible for formulation and
delivery of programs.
Deans and Division Chairs are empowered to run the School and
Divisions in terms of faculty development, student activities, programme
delivery etc.,
Accountability is ensured by periodical reviews of output at various
levels like the Deans and Directors council.
6.2.5 During the last four years, have there been any instances of court
cases filed by and against the institute? What were the critical issues and
verdicts of the courts on these issues?
A case was filed against the use of VIT Trade Mark by one of the Universities
in Jaipur.
6.2.6 How does the University ensure that grievances / complaints are
promptly attended to and resolved effectively? Is there a mechanism to
analyze the nature of grievances for promoting better stakeholder-
relationship?
