organized becomes a great platform for sharing knowledge and knowledge
management.
The University has been sponsoring a number of its employees to
acquire higher academic qualifications like the PhD programs offered to
faculty and staff members.
University motivates the faculty by awarding academic and research
excellence through Performance Evaluations and Research Awards.
6.1.11 How are the following values reflected in the functioning of the
University?
Contributing to national development
The institution recognizes the fact that it has an obligation to the
country. Every initiative of the institution reflects the vision of the Chancellor
-“In the field of professional education, India should lead the world and VIT
should lead India”.
Education at VIT University transcends beyond classroom teaching
and embraces national development as its part and parcel.
Whether it is updating of the syllabus or introduction of a new course /
program or commissioning research projects or setting up centres of
excellence, every action is as a result of the conviction that it is in the interest
of the nation and the institution will be able to contribute towards national
development.
Highly competent and ethically strong professionals of the University
have contributed to the pool of human resources of the country every year.
Establishment of
Centre for Disaster Mitigation and Management
is
an example of how the institution envisages a role for itself in meeting the
needs of the nation.
The Centers
of Excellence
established in the Institute like Centre for
Bioseperation Technology, Centre for Nanotechnology Research, Centre for
Nanobiotechnology and CO

Research Centre exemplify the University’s
involvement in the futuristic technological advancements required for national
development. VIT–Technology Business incubator and TIFAC-CORE in
Automotive Infotronics demonstrate that the institution is equally keen on
improving the current practices of the industry which are important for
national development.
International and National
funded projects
in areas of Energy,
Nanotechnology etc., from various government agencies prove that the
institution does play a strong role in national development.
