Governance and leadership
Page 147
Every faculty member serves as a Proctor who mentors (both academic
and non-academic) a group of students.
Faculty members also serve as Class Coordinators and help in bridging
the gap between students and the faculty through quality circle meetings, feed
backs etc.,
Periodically (once in two years) changes are made to the positions to
give every faculty/Staff a chance to become a leader.
Training Programs to promote Leadership are arranged regularly by
the Academic Staff College and Human Resource team to enrich the leaders in
becoming better governors and managers.
Faculty members are encouraged to coordinate the organization of
national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, guest lectures
etc.,
Students
Student council is responsible for all cultural and academic events of
the University.
The annual academic and cultural festivals being held at the University
viz.,
GRAVITAS and RIVIERA are organized by students and mentored by
faculty coordinators.
Various professional society clubs encourage students to develop
leadership qualities.
In addition, the students are encouraged to take up responsibilities in
various activities of the University. They are nominated as office bearers and
also programme managers.
6.1.10 Has the University evolved a knowledge management strategy? If
yes, give details.
Recognizing that knowledge accumulation and management and career
progression twine with each other, the University has established an Academic
Staff College that runs programmes on varied subjects throughout the year
benefiting the entire cross section of the faculty members. The Human
Resource Team also helps in arranging workshops and training for faculty and
staff members.
Inflow of knowledge through guest lectures by eminent persons in
fields of research, academics, industry and social awareness is very well
supported by the University.
