THESIS STATEMENT

                     Co-housing is a form of intentional community where individuals or families

                     live  together,  sharing  common  spaces  and  resources  while  maintaining
                     private living quarters. There are different types of co-housing communities

                     gleaned from occupation, functionality, regionalism etc.…In India Cohousing

                     is an emerging trend however it is still in its early stages and faces various

                     challenges related to property laws, cultural norms, financial considerations
                     and  Social  dynamics.  Chennai  is  the  Second  largest  Software  Exporter  in

                     India. As IT sector is a rapidly developing trend in Chennai, people migrate

                     from different places for occupation. These employees face a lot of housing
                     challenges  in  terms  of  rent  and  deposit,  distance  from  the  work  space,

                     transport facilities, time constraints, quality living etc.… This project aims to

                     create an exclusively designed co- housing community catering to the needs of
                     lifestyle  and  preferences  of  IT  professionals.  The  targeted  users  are  IT

                     professionals from the age group of 20-50, there are different types of units

                     designed to accommodate individuals and families. It is no doubt that IT sector
                     could  be  a  stressful  occupation  and  people  require  a  quality  living

                     environment  to  have  a  healthy  work  life balance.  This can  be  achieved  by

                     providing relevant services like co-working spaces, recreation and relaxation

                     areas, wellness centers, Event spaces, Primary health care center, Childcare
                     and Education centers, Green areas etc.... This study endeavors to provide a

                     comprehensive model that addresses the multifaceted needs of modern living

                     — professional efficiency, personal comfort, environmental responsibility, and

                     community connectivity — setting a visionary path for future developments
                     in the field.
