4.3 Climatic Analysis
Delhi experiences a composite climate characterized by distinct seasons: hot
and dry summers, mild winters, and short monsoon periods. Temperatures
soar to 45°C (113°F) in May and June, with low humidity. High sun angles
lead to significant heat gain through building facades. Frequent dust storms

further reduce air quality and increase discomfort. During Winter limited
solar radiation requires passive heating strategies. Increased use of fossil
fuels for heating worsens air quality.
