THESIS STATEMENT
This thesis project proposes a novel mixed-use building concept that integrates a
vibrant shopping mall with contemporary office spaces. This innovative design aims to
dismantle the barriers of traditional, isolated work environments and foster a healthy

work-life balance for occupants.
The design prioritizes user experience, offering office workers convenient access
to retail, dining, and entertainment options within the complex. This reduces commute
times, promotes work-life balance, and cultivates a sense of community. Sustainable
practices will be incorporated throughout, including natural daylighting, rainwater
harvesting, and energy-efficient materials.
For the neighborhood, the project acts as a catalyst for recreation. It boosts
economic activity, creates new job opportunities, and provides much-needed retail and
recreational amenities. The design incorporates public green spaces and pedestrian
walkways, enhancing the overall livability of the area. This mixed-use development in
Manapakkam strives to be a model for sustainable, user-centric urban design in Chennai's
developing IT corridor.
