4.1. Site Selection

It is reported that new medical institutions, including private
medical colleges, would be suggested in districts where there is not even
one medical college.
In the state of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy
has proposed to set up 17 more government medical colleges in 14 districts
in addition to the 11 government medical colleges now in existence in the
state as specified in the Figure 8.
Hence, Andhra Pradesh has been opted as the project's location.
Particularly, the south western district of Andhra Pradesh, Sri Satya Sai
district is selected for the project location.
