These type of pattern folds can be used to create livable habitats in extraterrestrial environment.
This drastically reduces the payload for transporting materials from earth to moon. In a single
transit from earth to moon we will be able to transport increased no of materials. The base of
the habitat is preassembled here on earth with the storage and auxiliary services to support
ECLSS. The habitat is expanded using actuator which also provides rigid support and acts as
column.
