12. SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT
The proposed project envisions the establishment of a dynamic cultural space in
Kozhikode, India, dedicated to celebrating its rich literary heritage as a UNESCO
City of Literature. This transformative initiative seeks to create a vibrant hub for
intellectual exchange, community engagement, and cultural enrichment. It
includes features such as reading spaces, a curated library, a dedicated literary
museum showcasing the city's literary evolution, and exhibition spaces for new art
forms. Additionally, the project integrates community spaces with a park and pond,
heritage restaurants, and public spaces to enhance Kozhikode's cultural identity
and uniqueness. Emphasizing inclusivity and economic growth, the cultural space
aims to serve as a year-round venue for literary activities and events, providing
affordable platforms for local authors and contributing to the city's cultural legacy
and UNESCO's Creative Cities Network.
