4.2. Concept based on circulation
The ground floor is raised to create a podium to allow the public traverse through the building
connecting the north and the west entrance. This provides seamless connectivity between the
park railway station and to the subway systems at the entrance of site. Through this the public
is welcomed into the site.
4.3. Concept based on TOD
Thesis Report V-SPARC VIT
To cater to the daily needs of the people a variety of provisions are provided. The entrance of
the parka railways station is made pedestrian free with the road access and parking pushed
towards the west. This creates a pedestrian free zone between the building and the station.
The west side of the building can be designed as a podium with various small shops and daily
provisions which can cater to the users who are traversing between different transit.
4.4. Zoning
The site size is very small and restricted thus careful zoning should be done. the zoning has
been done as per the user circulation. To cater to the fast-moving crowd on the west small
shop and kiosks with a plaza would help the users to just relax and take a quick bite. While
an atrium can be given to invite the people in and lead to the commercial complex. The
commercial complex can also have a supermarket and few apparel shops that can cater to the
users. Separate lobbies should be given for the office users and hotel users. The office drops
off and lobby can be given on the east while the hotel drop off is given on the west. Thus,
through this a common core can be achieved for all the different functions. Also given the site
below entrance and exit are compromised to single point with various exhaust spaces, entry
and exit points leading into the site. The diagram below shows the underground subway
connection and its access points.
