At present there is an increasing prevalence of multi-drug resistance in Salmonella typhii. Gene network analysis will reveal the role of antibiotic resistance genes, and their associated functional partners in enhancing the resistance to antibiotics. The predominant action of functional partners will be identified. The topological metrics analysis will indicate that the involvement of clusters in their specific pathways and functions. Functional annotations of their gene products will provide valuable insights on drug resistance mechanisms. Our gene network model could be exploited for constructing similar networks for antibiotic resistance genes and for locating potential drug targets and unique candidate genes which can be targeted for drug discovery.
