Assistant ProfessorProject Description
Control over catalysis is important for preparation of functional molecules and/or material at specific place and time. This project deals with controlled organocatalysis for the synthesis of organic molecule(s) in an aqueous environment. Availability of an organocatalyst for chemical reaction will be managed by the presence of stimuli. Following this strategy, various C–C bond forming reactions will be explored in aqueous environment in a controlled way using sound as stimulus. Successful exploration of the proposed work will direct stimuli triggered catalyst availability for controlled molecule formation, which is usually seen in Nature as precise manner. Artificial materials could also be prepared employing this strategy of stimuli responsive catalytic activity. This proposed work will opens up new research areas in biomedical and energy material.
