Project Description
The main rationale for this project work is one of the important transformer production and repair centres in the world. In our country, which is one of them, the mineral oil usage will be restricted in the near future due to some technical and environmental problems. Preliminary research on potential resin oils show that it is capable to replace mineral oils. Our research will allow the production of longer lasting (economical) transformers, solid insulator-liquid will concentrate on superficial partial discharges (PD) formed in the insulator interface and especially with nano particles. Nomex® solid insulator surface with reinforced natural ester oils will be examined. Our aim is to determine the most appropriate nanoparticle size and ratio in terms of interface partial discharges. For this purpose, compared to the traditional mineral oil-cellulose based solid insulator duo, TiO2 nano particle added superficial formed in two different solid insulator interfaces of natural ester oils (cellulose sheet and Nomex® sheet) partial discharges and disruptions caused by these interfaces will be examined.
