Project Description
Our research group mainly working on functionalization of the cyclopropene- and cyclobutenescarbinols in order to construct stereocenters in the presence of Rhodium complexes. We also thinking whether it might be possible to apply this “enantioconvergent” strategy to the formation of enantioenriched cyclopropanes possessing an all-carbon quaternary center starting from carbinols. A carbinol represents the smallest-possible unsaturated carbocycle, which are versatile reactive materials for organic synthesis, and can be elaborated to a wide variety of more complex chiral structures. The chemistry of cyclopropane derivatives is extremely diverse and has been investigated in many research groups. In the last few years, there has been a lot of scope and importance observed in this field. However, the transformation of cyclopropene into enantiomerically enriched derivatives is a relatively new field of research, which could be advantageous for the preparation of chiral cyclopropane derivatives. By using this methodology we can construct Quaternary stereocenters strained molecules.
