Project Description
This project aims to design energy-efficient chalcogenide materials to develop next-generation universal memories. Collecting and storing information in digital data form has become vital and integral to daily human life. A tremendous amount of digital data is generated and transferred, and the world's total digital data will be doubled every two years. However, the present memory technologies need help handling such big data regarding storage, transfer, and access. Therefore, developing a universal memory that can process and store data in the same physical location will likely revolutionize edge computing through neural computation.
In this work, alternative materials contrast to Silicon will be explored to design the prototype memory devices to make them energy efficient with a high data transfer rate and large life cycle.
