Graphical Abstract
Project Description
Background: The urgent need of an improved and newer antibiotic system which can combact emergence of MDR and XDR-TB warrants the develepoment of multifunctional therapeutic system. Nanoemulsion in eugenol essential oil has significantly improved thes antimycobacerial aver the bulk and also act as a vehicle for the delivery of lipophilic and hydrophilic drugs.
Objective: From our decade of experience in the emulsion technology, we propose to use multi-funcional charateristics of the nanoemulsion could be stable, non toxic and multiple drug devilvery system against MDR-TB . The incorporate both hydrophilic and lipophilic drugs in the nanoemulsion system could provide a combined synergistic therapy.
Outcome: The effective concentration of the nanoemulsion systems will be used as an intranasal dru delivery vehicale for the effective therapy. The use of computational algirothms to study interaction behavior of the nanoemulsion system with Mycobacterium tuberculosis could prove possible mechanism of action.
