a) National collaboration
- A project entitled “Antimicrobial and
Immunostimulatory Activities of Actinomycetes for Aquatic Animal Health
Management” is ongoing and the Principal investigators are A. Sait Sahul
Hameed, C. Abdul Hakeem College, Melvisharam, Narayanasamy Madhivanan,
University of Madras, Guindy Campus, and
K. Kannabiran, VIT University
.
Total amount sanctioned by DBT is Rs. 87,22,160 out of which
VIT has been
sanctioned with Rs. 20,36,700
.
b) International collaboration

School projects funded by DST-FIST; UGC-SAP/CAS, DPE; DBT, ICSSR,
AICTE, etc.; total grants received.
Financial Assistance has been provided to the School of Bio Sciences and
Technology on FIST programme by Ministry of Science and Technology, DST,
Government of India. Sanction for
Rs. 84,00,000
for a period of 5 years has been
accorded in March, 2013. First instalment of Rs 37,50,000 for the year 2012-
2013, has been provided under “creation of capital assets” for purchase of
equipment.
