The quality of the students admitted into this B.Tech ECE program is very good as the
top rank students in VITEEE prefer ECE program.
c)
Diversity of the faculty from different states and they having Ph.D degrees from
reputed Indian and foreign Universities.
d)
The international exposure of the faculty has resulted in development of new project
proposals.
e)
The flexibility in curriculum like project based learning and research based learning
have helped the students to apply their knowledge to practical problems.
Weaknesses:
a)
It is the department with many young faculty members who are pursuing their Ph.D’s.
b)
The maturity level of staff members handling pressure situations has to improve, so
that fully flexible credit system (FFCS) can be implemented more effectively.
c)
Continuous training is needed for young faculty both in pedagogy and language skills.
d)
Dealing with non performing students and slow learners takes away lot of time.
e)
Multiple diversions makes loss of interest in some of the subjects for the students,
especially in mathematical subjects.
Opportunities:
a)
The School has very good placement record and higher studies opportunities in
multiple specializations; this turn is helping to attract better students.
b)
Attract international students to the school, thus giving the school an international
exposure.
c)
It has the opportunity to develop in to a world ranking school.
d)
The faculty has the opportunity to establish links with foreign universities from where
they got the Ph.D. Degree and do international collaboration works.
e)
As the School is nearer to the electronic cities and automotive industries hub like
Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, it has the opportunity to establish links with all
industries.
Challenges:
a)
Bringing more international exposure to school and making it as one among the top
200 Universities in the world.
b) Attracting international faculty to the school
c) Developing patent culture in the school and encouraging faculty to apply for patents
d) Generating research funds to the school.

Training the younger faculty in pedagogy
f)
Motivating the students to use the excellent library facility
Future plans of the department:
a)
The School is starting an M.Tech Program (Embedded systems) this year and we need
to consolidate that.
b)
the school is planning to develop a few centers of excellence in the areas of
Sensor Systems
Signal processing and Communications
c)
Expanding the present existing programs like Semester Abroad programs (SAP) and
double degree to more Students and with more institutions.
d)
Establishing links with new industry partners like IBM, Maxim integrated, Honeywell
and expanding links with existing partners like TI and Cadence.
e)
To recruit more full time research scholars and improve the research culture in the
school.
