3.2 Resource Mobilization for Research
3.2.1 What are the financial provisions made in the university budget for
supporting students’ research projects?
Budget preparation stems from the Schools. The Dean is responsible for
preparing the budget needed for the School, inclusive of the research
activities. This covers both recurring and non-recurring expenses. Allocation
of the budget is made for the purchase chemicals, glass wares and other
consumables and for the purchase of specific instruments. The list of
instruments available at each School is given in the ‘Evaluative Report of the
School’. There is provision in the budget to provide assistance to the students
to attend conferences / workshops elsewhere.
3.2.2 Has the university taken any special efforts to encourage its faculty
to file for patents? If so, how many have been registered and accepted?
The Patent Cell of the University organizes seminars to encourage filing of
patents. Faculty Development Programmes are conducted to create awareness
on patenting. Patents have been filed and a few of them have been approved.
Information on this is given in the school / centre report.
3.2.3 Provide the following details of ongoing research projects of faculty
The following information gives information on the number of ongoing
projects in the University. The details are given in the ‘Evaluative Report of
