PREFACE
I am very happy to forward VIT University’s Self Study Report to the National Assessment
and Accreditation Council. The University has been following a well established continuous
quality improvement process to meet its responsibilities in teaching and learning, research,
helping industry meets its human resource needs and offering a holistic educational service to
the citizens of our country. We are very happy to present the university’s profile for review
by a Peer Review Team from NAAC.
Leading up to this request for accreditation, the University has been focusing its efforts on the
following:
- Benchmarking our programs against the best programs in the world
- Developing strong faculty resources
- Seeking input from all constituencies, including students, parents, faculty, alumni,
employers, governmental agencies, international partners and experts in each field of
study to develop the most responsive curricula
- Supporting the development and delivery of best instruction
- Implementing an assessment process that focuses on the program output
- Measuring the skills and competencies of graduates and assuring that our programs
exceed expectations
- Seeking feedback on the performance of graduates in industry
- Continuously making changes in the curricula to meet or exceed expectations
- Helping secure best placement for our graduates
- Working with industry, government and international partners to offer our programs
- Supporting our faculty to utilize the best of technology
- Being responsive to the changes that occur in industry
- Providing excellent infrastructure facilities
- Producing outstanding research output
- Serving all segments of society through quality education
- Meeting its social responsibilities while creating excellent opportunities
The University is continuously improving its quality of education. It has secured international
accreditation for many of its programs in engineering, computer science and information
technology.
This document summarizes the processes and programs that help meet NAAC accreditation
criteria. We are looking forward to presenting the University and its programs for review by
the NAAC team.
