Chinese Universities), participating and winning in various national and
International competitions, presenting papers in conferences around the world,
organization of international events with large-scale presence of foreign
delegates are some of the pointers that indicate that VIT students are
competitive globally.
Inculcating a sound value system among students
The curriculum includes compulsory courses that impart ethics and
values. For VIT, value systems are a matter of practice. NAAC has
acknowledged the value system prevalent in the institution in its previous
assessment reports.
Courses like Ethics and Values, Environmental Studies etc., are
designed in such a way that they inculcate a sound value system among
students. In Ethics and Values, topics like personal social responsibility,
corruption, tax evasion, addiction and drug abuse, personal and professional
ethics are covered.
Students are encouraged to carry out extension activities through NSS,
YRC and various club activities and professional societies. Blood donation
camps, medical camps, spreading social awareness, educating rural students
are some of the regular activities carried out by students.
Professionals are invited to interact with students to improve their
moral and social values.
The institution has been making continuous and conscious efforts to
enhance the levels of inculcating value systems among the students through
formally and informally educating and enlightening them on their significance.
Promoting use of technology
The University is proactive in its approach to promote use of ICT. All
the schools have number of computer centres. Computer stations, Internet and
Wifi are provided throughout the campus including the hostels
Every class room is equipped with LCD projectors. Number of smart
classrooms is also available in the campus with audio and video facility.
Every faculty member is given a laptop. Majority of the non-teaching
staff have desktop computers.
An exclusive and dedicated section, CTS (Centralized Technical
Support) is functioning to cater to the ICT needs and maintenance. This unit
looks after development of computer facilities all around the campus apart
from facilitating related training in consultation with ICT professionals in the
industry.
Many faculty members use number of ICT tools and Information
Management Systems with Moodle for delivery and assessment.
