A call-monitoring system, which enables the users to lodge complaints /
required services in the intranet portal, is in process. Technical
personnel are assigned to attend the call.
The CTS has its offices at each of the major buildings of the University.
4.3.10 Does the university avail of the National Knowledge Network
connectivity? If so, what are the services availed of?
One Gbps connectivity to National Knowledge Network is currently
being availed.
4.3.11 Does the university avail of web resources such as Wikipedia,
dictionary and other education enhancing resources? What are its policies
in this regard?
Faculty and Students are allowed to individually avail of education
enhancing resources through Internet, based on the need

update, deployment and maintenance of computers in the university.
Separate budget has been allocated to the CTS for the update,
deployment and maintenance of computers in the University.

4.3.13 What plans have been envisioned for the gradual transfer of
teaching and learning from closed university information network to open
environment?
The University has already taken steps to transfer the teaching and
learning process from closed university information network to open
environment. The introduction of Fully Flexible Credit System has paved
way for a student friendly learning environment, with sufficient flexibility
in the teaching-learning process. The following are the salient features of
FFCS:
Choice in the order of selection of courses in each semester
Choice in timings/time slots in the selection of courses
Choice in the selection of number of courses per semester
Choice of preparing his /her own time table and academic plan
Balanced curriculum with engineering, science, humanities and
management courses
Ample opportunities to do inter-disciplinary courses
Soft on slow learners by offering important / common courses in all
semesters
Provision for registration/re-registration during summer semester
