4.1 Physical Facilities
4.1.1 How does the university plan and ensure adequate availability of
physical infrastructure and ensure its optimal utilization?
University level Space Committee is responsible for ensuring adequate
availability of the infrastructure
Deans / Directors with the help of the Division Chairs and faculty
members plan the requirement at the school level and recommend to the
University level Space Committee
The expansion of the infrastructure is done based on the need. Planning
for infrastructure development takes care of the quality measures
Requirement of the class rooms and laboratories is planned ahead of
each semester to ensure optimal utilisation of these resources
The seminar halls and auditoriums are booked in advance depending on
the expected strength of participants in a given event.
The university, on the whole, ensures availability of adequate
infrastructure facilities in the campus so as to create the right ambience
for teaching-learning and research.
4.1.2 Does the university have a policy for the creation and enhancement
of infrastructure in order to promote a good teaching-learning
environment? If yes, mention a few recent initiatives.
One of the responsibilities of the
Planning and Monitoring Board
is to
ensure the creation of the required infrastructure
The
Space Committee
monitors the allocation and utilisation of the available
resources. The committee also recommends the need for expanding the
infrastructure to the
Planning and Monitoring Board
Some of the recent initiatives include:
New hostel building for boys,
Additional building for the main library, and creation of new research
laboratories in various schools, indoor sports facility and other additional
amenities like coffee / snacks shops, optical stores and beauty parlour.
4.1.3
How does the university create a conducive physical ambience for
the faculty in terms of adequate research laboratories, computing
facilities and allied services?
In addition to the teaching laboratories, several research laboratories
(based on the requirement) in areas of specialisation have been
established.
Every faculty of the university has been allotted a separate cabin which
facilities discussion with the students and other faculty members
